Why this unit

A benchtop vacuum former for retainers, bleaching trays, splints and temporary appliances. The heater head rotates ninety degrees clear of the work area rather than lifting straight up, so the softened sheet is drawn down without you reaching across a hot element.

The model sits in a bed of steel beads on a perforated tray. Beads support the undercuts and let vacuum reach the whole periphery, which is the difference between a retainer that seats and one that lifts at the distal. Sheet material is held in a clamp frame that takes both round and square blanks, and the lever on the right drops the frame and starts forming in one movement.

Sheet size range and supply voltage are confirmed against the factory build on your quotation. Supplied with a bag of steel beads.

Choosing a vacuum forming machine

  • What it formsThermoforms plastic sheet for orthodontic retainers, arch splints, periodontal and fluoride trays, temporary or permanent denture bases, jaw supports, mouthguards, implant positioning guides, and surgical trays.
  • Bench fitCompact benchtop unit for the dental technician; operation is two switches — heating and forming.
  • Heating capacity1,400 W heater on a 220 V ±10%, 50 Hz supply. Confirm the supply version on your quotation.
  • CycleFilm clamped in the frame is heated until it sags about 1 cm below the frame plane (roughly 2–3 minutes), then the vacuum motor forms it over the model.
